Winter Workouts

Originally I had planned to have us run our hard works at two new locations for the winter. Unfortunately I don't think our plan "A" will work. I thought these two locations would be plowed and salted, leaving us a place to run hard with good footing. I have been scouting these places out over the past few weeks and the footing has been very uneven and slippery... not good at all for running fast.

We will have 3 staple workouts during the winter. Click on the link to see a map of each
We are familiar with our Raby Progression/Long Runs. The only change is that instead of making a left onto Hagadorn, we will make a left one block earlier onto John R. The sidewalks are horrible on Hagadorn. John R. is a side street across form McDonlad Middle School in E.L.

Meijer Hills will be new for everyone. The Meijer Hill is a 400m hill that is run on the driveway that runs behind the Okemos Meijer. The hill starts at the entrance on Okemos and ends at the entrance on Marsh Road. We will run all out up the hill and run easy down the hill for your recovery. The warm up and cool down are both 2 miles.

The Hot Chocolate Run will also be a new addition to our winter training. This run will end at Cappuccino Cafe at the corner of Central Park and Marsh Road. We will run an out and back down Marsh/Okemos Roads for time and end for a nice cup of hot chocolate. Bring money for your beverage. After everyone gets their hot chocolate we can walk back to HHS.
