Monica Barnes and Brad James capped off their high school track careers by competing in the Midwest Meet of Champions for Team Michigan. Team Michigan is composed of the top Michigan senior athletes in track & field. Team Michigan competes against Ohio and Indian's best seniors.
Monica ran on the winning 4 x 800 Relay that ran 9:10. Monica received the baton in 2nd place and had to make up a large gap. She handed off the baton to the 3rd leg in 1st place and ran a split of 2:17.3.
Brad competed in the high jump, tying for 2nd with a jump of 6' 7".
Team Michigan won the boys meet and the girls took 2nd. Official results can be found at the following link. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Heston for these pictures.
Monica and Brad will both be heading off to the University of Michigan in the fall. Brad will be running indoor/outdoor track and Monica will be running cross country and indoor/outdoor track for the Wolverines. GO BLUE!!!
