Success

For the cross country teams the Regional meet put a close to another successful cross country season. Haslett is headed in the right direction... one day at a time, one month at a time, and one year at a time. There are definitely pluses and minus to being in the toughest Regional in the state... and one of the toughest leagues. You all are that much better prepared to get the most out of yourself.

You have great competition to run against and the BAR IS SET HIGH. I firmly believe in the theory of the "small fish in the big pond." That meaning... if one is exposed to greater challenges, that person will grow stronger than they would if they were exposed to smaller challenges. Everyone respondes differently to challenges. Some can handle more than others, but the theory will always hold true. WE ALL NEED TO CONTINUE TO CHALLENGE OURSELVES UNTIL THE END... gradually increasing the challenges overtime.

The graph above is a visual of the boys and girls team's top 5 averages for each meet during the year (a list is below). The boys in RED, the girls in BLUE. Granted there are many variables that contribute to consistent improvement over the season... training, school stress, life commitments, nutrition, course difficulty, the swine flu, injuries, etc. the boys and girls both performed their best AT THE END OF THE SEASON. When it counts the most!

You all should be very proud of your season. As we enter the post-season until Thanksgiving break, we need to continue to challenge ourselves and grow stronger. The Nike Mid-West,Senior Mid-East the , and the Footlocker Mid-West meets provide such opportunities for challenging yourself and getting stronger.
