Jam #2 Recap

Our second of three League Jamborees are now behind us and a thing of the past. We improved on our score from the first Jamboree which is huge. Both the boys and girls have been running consistent times and improving steadily over the course of the season. Those that are improving the most are the runners that are taking advantage of everyday of training. They are not wasting any time on their runs. Not only are they hitting their quality/fast workouts, they are also running on their free run days and getting in some quality easy running.

Because we have been running consistently and steadily improving, it is time for a change in training. Friday's 1600m time trial, Saturday's 70 minute long run, and no day off on Sunday (30 minute run) will provide your body with a new training stimulus that will stimulate your body to make one last jump in fitness gains in your final races of the season.

Friday we will be on a tight schedule. You need to change ASAP (take your bags to 6th hour).
  • 2:30 Be on the track ready to warm up. 2 mile track warm up.
  • We will run 2 heats.
  • 2:50 will be the sub-5:45 heat
  • 3:00 will be the 5:45+ heat.
  • 2 mile cool down on the xc course.
Saturday we will meet at 10:00 AM for a 70 minute easy long run. Meet at the Stanko's. Dough nuts and cider after the run to refuel.

Sunday morning everyone needs to run for an easy 30 minutes. First thing in the morning before your day starts.
