Winter will be here shortly and the weather provides a whole new training environment to work in. Like anything else it has it's pluses and minuses.
To overcome the icy-snow covered roads it's not a bad idea to do some faster running on a treadmill. I have done some leg work to line up some treadmills for the group. We have two options right now.
The Haslett YMCA and Anytime Fitness (both on Haslett Road) have offered to allow us to use their treadmills for $7.00/visit. This is a pretty good deal... and if your family has a YMCA or Anytime Fitness membership you can just use that. Is paying $7.00 once a week worth it for a few months out of the year? That's something you can decide for yourself.
I'd like to open this idea up for discussion. If you would like to voice your opinion on using the treadmills once a week please do so. I'd love to have your input. Right now I think we can shoot for one workout a week on the treadmill. More if we run into some rough weather.
This winter the treadmill will replace Raby Road Progression Runs and Strawberry Farm Tempo Runs. We can always change it up if needed, but I think we should give it a try... if you would like.
