Centipede

There is a race in San Francisco called Bay to Breakers. It is known for runners wearing costumes and having a good time. A few years ago my friend Tommy Greenless ran in a pink gorilla suite and dominated the costumed runner division. Sub 6:00 pace for 12k. I believe I shared this around that time.

Well this year he took on a new challenge and joined in on the team event of the race. At Bay to Breakers they have a division called The Centipede division. 13 runners are joined together by a bungee cord and must run the race from start to finish tied together. They went on the set the course record of 37:02... 4:58 pace for 12k of running. If that's not teamwork, I don't know what is. Wikipedia entry on the race LINK.
