Wed. @ HRC cross country camp
Wednesday at camp runners completed a version of a progression run. Progression runs are a major part of the Haslett running program. Basically a progression run is a run that starts out at a pace that is faster than easy and progressively gets faster. By the end you should be running close to all out... about 90% effort. During the fall and spring seasons... runners will be completing weekly progression runs of 4-10 miles. The day started with a 3 mile warm-up to the Meadow Track. Campers had the option of completing a 1/2-mile or 1-mile progression run. After the progression run we watch Running Brave, a movie about Billy Mills, a famous Native-American Olympian. To finish out the day, campers enjoyed some snacks and then a 3 mile run back to HHS.
