Jamboree #3 Recap

Jamboree #3 brought our League meets to a close last Tuesday. It was great that Charlotte provided us with a fast course to run on. Many bounced back nicely from our Thursday and Saturday races. On TH and SAT many set PRs. To come back in the following race and set another PR is hard to come by. It goes to show that "The Haslett" way of training is working for everyone. Even if you didn't PR, you probably came close.

For those of you that will be moving on to winter team sports, I wish you the best in your next sport. I hope we can have 100% of our team doing something physically challenging over the winter. The two options... play a team sport or run with the Haslett Running Club every day. Going to the weight room or running only when you feel like it does not cut it in my book!

For those that will be running with the Haslett Running Club, your fall training will end after Thanksgiving. Your final race will be the Lansing Turkeyman Trot.

After the State Finals on Saturday 11/6, we will continue to train and meet up every day after school. If your schedule is open for the following dates I would recommend that you participate in the following events if possible.
Sunday 11/28 will be the first of 7 days off from training. Yes... 1 full week of no running (or any other physically demanding activity) at all. If you wish to follow "The Haslett" way for the entire year, this week is very important for your development as a runner. Taking a week off from running allows your mind and body to rest up and completely rebuild. You will not get out of shape in this week. Once you resume training for the winter, it will take a week or two to get your running legs back.

Keep running Fast Haslett!
