Congratulations to Ian and Alex for competing in this past weekends Foot Locker Mid-West Regional in Kenosha, WI. There are 4 Foot Locker Regionals held across the country. The top 10 runners from each Regional qualify for the Nationals Championships. On the high school level these races are probably the most competitive running event because everyone runs in one race... there are no classes or divisions.
Ian placed 91st out of 294 runners, in a time of 16:29 in the boys seeded race. He was the 17th Michigan finisher... improving on his 20th place finish from the State Finals.
Alex placed 78th out of 216 runners, in a time of 18:07 in the 9th/10th grade race. He was the 15th Michigan finisher.
The boys will now be able to take this experience of running in such a competitive field into any race they run in down the road.
